Salad is considered as the best diet food. Whether or not this is true, we all turn to salads whenever we want to lose extra weight. There are many ways to make sure that your salad is great for both gluten and vegan diet.  The best part about making a salad is that it is really quick and easy to do.

Here are some recipe ideas to make a delicious and nutritious salad to eat.

Cucumber Salad For Refreshment

Eating cucumber always leaves you feeling revitalized. There are many health benefits you can get from it as well. Cucumber is a wonderful source of B vitamins. It is also great for replenishing daily nutrients and it helps keep you hydrated.

Create a cucumber salad using this recipe:

  • One cucumber
  • Three tablespoons of brown rice vinegar
  • A carrot
  • A teaspoon of sake
  • A teaspoon of brown sugar
  • One bunch of radishes
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

What to do:

Wash the radish, cucumber and carrot. Peel and remove the ends of the carrot. Cut the ends of both radish and cucumber, as well.

Slice the radish and carrots into thin strips. Remove the seeds of the cucumber after cutting it into half. Slice it into half-moon shapes.

In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, sake and brown rice vinegar. Add salt and pepper. Stir well. Combine the mixture with the vegetables. Make sure that every piece is covered. Serve immediately. You can also have it chilled for half an hour before serving.

Green Apple Salad

This one is really easy to do. The best part is that the ingredients are healthy and available anywhere.

Here is the list of the ingredients you need:

  • A green apple
  • Half a cabbage
  • Two tablespoons of lemon extract
  • A teaspoon of water
  • Salt
  • Pepper

What to do:

Wash the apple and cabbage before chopping them into small pieces. Thinly slice the small red onion.

In a bowl, combine all of the main ingredients, cabbage, apple and onion. Add the lemon extract and sprinkle in salt and pepper. Mix well. Serve and enjoy!

Healthy Coleslaw For The Vegan

This is a healthier alternative to the typical coleslaw. You will surely reap more health benefits from this delicious delight.

What you need:

  • A green cabbage
  • A carrot
  • One half red bell pepper
  • One half green bell pepper
  • Two cups of bean mayo
  • An onion
  • Three tablespoons of distilled vinegar
  • Two tablespoons of gluten-free mustard
  • A teaspoon of caraway seeds
  • Salt
  • Pepper

What to do:

Shred the cabbage. And Cut the bell peppers and carrots into small thin strips. Chop the onion into smaller pieces.

Wash the veggies except the onion. Place all the dry ingredients in a salad bowl. The remaining liquid ingredients should be mixed until smooth. Combine the two mixtures together. Add salt, pepper and sugar to taste. Store in a fridge and chill before serving.
