Valentine’s Day

This day is definitely special. Though it is not a holiday and we Filipinos have adapted it as one of those special occasions where we cook special dishes or simply go out on a date and eat at a fancy restaurant with a loved one.

Indeed, Valentine’s Day is special, but it doesn’t mean you must spurge all your hard-earned money to please your significant other. In case you are out of budget for a 5-star restaurant, consider preparing and cooking a special meal at home. You can set the ambiance with a simple yet elegant table setting, candlelight, and ambient music.

For the food, don’t be afraid to try dishes that look special but easy to cook. You can have a simple salad consisting of iceberg or romaine lettuce with thinly sliced carrots, grated parmesan, and vinaigrette. For the main course, serve simple pasta and a fish or meat dish. For dessert, you can make one or if you don’t have time, just buy cake or ice cream.

Here are a few dishes you can prep and serve for your V-day celebration today. You can add other dish/es if your time permits and also mix and match other dishes that you think are best for you and your Valentine date.
