Our 2016 Noche Buena Menu

Keeping it simple and tasty is our motto for tonight’s Noche Buena. We’re trying to avoid multiple meat dishes in one serving particularly on the night before Christmas and New Year since those days are usually scheduled for another round of cooking.

For tonight, we kept the tradition we started a few years ago and just kept it practical and easy to do as well.

For starters, my sister prepped a cheese board using Camembert, Chévre and Edam cheeses with sliced apples and grapes.

We also have bone-in Chinese ham with pineapple glaze, sweet potato salad, and goodies gifted to us (banana loaf, cassava cake and pichi-pichi). For dessert, we have ube halaya and leche flan.

Here’s a plate of my late Noche Buena meal. I had fruit punch earlier, so I just opted for a mug of coffee this time.

I hope you all have an awesome Christmas and New Year with your family.

Enjoy cooking and eating moderately this holiday. Cheers!
